The Association of Canadian Psychology Regulatory Organizations (ACPRO), of which NSBEP is a member, has been exploring the possibility of developing a National Standard for entry to practice psychology in Canada. At the November 2014 meeting of ACPRO, the Board of Directors approved a Position Statement on a National Standard for Entry to Practice. The position statement indicates that “The National Standard for registration as a Psychologist is graduation from a doctoral program in Psychology accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association.” Appendix A of the Position Statement outlines the registration requirements for graduates of a doctoral program that was not CPA accredited. The Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology has endorsed this Position Statement by ACPRO. To view the Position Statement please click here to proceed to the ACPRO website.
