NSBEP supports the Universal Declaration of Ethical Principles for Psychologists. Registrants are reminded that the Declaration does not replace NSBEP’s Standards nor does it replace the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists.  Click on the icon below for more information.

 

Registrations will next come up for renewal on July 1, 2021 and then run from July 1 through June 30th of every year.

The annual fee for registration* is $805. 
The full annual fee is payable unless registration commences between January 1st and June 30th.  The pro-rated fees (covering January 1st through June 30th) are listed below:

January – June: $402.50

February – June: $335.40

March – June: $268.32

April – June: $201.24

May – June: $134.16

June: $67.08

*Limited Registration Categories
Out-of-Province Register $402.50 (No practice privilege in NS, must be registered in another jurisdiction)

Retired Register $100.00 (No longer working)

Academic Register $100.00 (No clinical practice)

Inactive Register $100.00 (Not currently practicing psychology).  

Any psychologist with registration in a limited registration category (i.e., Retired, Academic or Inactive) who wishes to return to full registration, must write to the Board to request placement back on the full register.

Online Registration Renewal Process Instructions

Please read this brief outline before proceeding.

  1. In order to start the process you can click on the link below entitled “Click here to complete your Registration Renewal.”

  2. Once the resulting page loads, please enter your registration number and the password you used last year. If you do not recall your password, you can select the “Forgot your Password” link, or if you would like to set up a new password, please click the “Register for Online Access” link.

  3. Follow all instructions.

  4. Once you have completed all steps of the renewal process, you will be provided with your Receipt and Confirmation of Registration. Additionally you will receive an email providing access to your Receipt and Confirmation of Registration.

  • Note: Registrants choosing to defer payment until November 15th: After completing all steps of the online renewal process, you will receive an email to confirm that you have completed the process but are delaying payment until November 15th. After your payment is processed on November 15th , you will receive an email providing access to your Receipt and Confirmation of Registration.

  • Having trouble accessing the online renewal option? Some registrants are unable access this option if their place of employment only allows access to certain URLs. In this instance you can complete the online process at another location (i.e. at home) or request that your IT Administrator allow the following URL: https://secure.nsbep.org

Withdrawal

Registrants can withdraw from the Register and apply for reinstatement at any time within the next two years without requirement of a new application. However a complete application must be submitted if a registrant is withdrawn for a period exceeding two years.

Registrants wishing to withdraw from the Register must submit a written request to do so to NSBEP.

Reinstatement

In order to reinstate their registration, Registrants must:

1. Submit a written request to have their registration reinstated (provided they have not been withdrawn for a period greater than two years).

2. Pay the annual registration fee and a $50.00 reinstatement fee. (Information concerning fees can be found above.) If reinstating after June 30th of any year, please consult Section B. of the Annual Registration Renewal Policies.
