The Board is composed of members who are psychologists and members of the public.
According to the Psychologists Act, the Board shall include members who are registered psychologists, in good standing. Under the previous version of the Act, psychologists were appointed by the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS). Under revisions to the Psychologists Act. registrants will elect members of the Board. The Board hopes to hold its first elections in the fall and will be working with Stakeholders to develop regulations for holding elections.
The Act also requires that the Board include public representation. Public members are neither registered psychologists nor candidates, and they are appointed by the Governor in Council. For more information about becoming a public member, please click here.
